Bižas Lake
Bižas Lake (Bišu Lake) is located on the Latgale upland, in Rundēni parish of Ludza municipality; 171.7 metres above sea level. The surroundings are hilly; the landscape is impressive. The shores are both steep and sloping, overgrown with bushes and deciduous trees. In the north and in the west there are narrow gulfs. There are 5 islands (total area is about 2.6 ha). There are 8 streams and ditches flowing into the lake. In the west the Sarjanka River flows out of the lake.
Area: 1.66 km2, total area with the islands: 1.69 km2
Length: 3.0 km (from the northwest to the south-east); max. width: 0.9 km.
Average depth: 6.9 m, max. depth: 22 m.
Basin: 41 km2 (belongs to the Daugava River basin)
