Brigu Lake is located on the Latgale upland, in Brigi parish of Ludza municipality; it is 111.3 metres above sea level. It is oval-shaped, up to 2.3 m deep. The shores are low, peaty; the lake can be accessed only from its north-eastern part. It is eutrophic; stagnant; the level of eutrophication is about 30%. Sludge, sapropel (marsh sludge). There are ditches with channels going to the Istra River.

Basin: the lake belongs to the basin of the VelikayaRiver
