dzilezersDziļezers Lake is located on the Latgale upland, in Istra parish of Ludza municipality; it is 145 m above sea level. It belongs to the group of Vecslabada lakes. The shores are both steep and sloping. In the southern part they are low. The lake has many coves. There are three islands; the largest of them is Mīlas Island (Love Island). In the south-east there is Hrestiņas peninsula. It is a running-water lake: streams come from Istras Lake and Volčaka Lake; there are many ditches as well. The bottom is even and sandy. In the east and south-east there are forests, in the north-west there is Vecslabada village.

Area: 1.51 km2 , area with islands: 1.52 km2

Length: 2.3 km (from the south to the north), max. width: 1.2 km.

Average depth: 3.7 m, max. depth: 5.6 m.

Basin: 118.5 km2 (the lake belongs to the basin of the Velikaya River)
