Idzipoles Lake is located on the Latgale upland; it is 186.2 m above sea level. It has many coves. In the northern part there are peninsulas covered with forests, the high shores are overgrown with bushes. It is a running water lake: in the south there are 3 streams flowing into the lake; the Poganka River flows out of the lake (Pilda basin). A eutrophic, sludgy lake; the level of eutrophication is about 40%.

Area: 48.0 ha

Average depth: 3.5 m, max. depth: 6.6 m.

The lake belongs to the basin of the Velikaya River.
