Ilza Lake (Long Lake) is located on the Latgale upland, in Istra parish of Ludza municipality. It is 147.5 m above sea level. The narrow part of the lake has steep and sloping shores; the shores of the roundish part of the lake are low and flooded, there is a forest around the lake. It is a running water lake; several ditches and a stream from Šķaunes Lake flow into it; there is an outgoing flow to Plusons Lake and to the Zilupe River. It is eutrophic, sludgy and overgrown (previous area about 82 ha). There are houses, roads and fields nearby.

Length: 2.6 km; max. width: 0.8 km.

Average depth: 1.5 m, max. depth: 2.5 m.

Basin: 17.7 km2 (the lake belongs to the basin of the Velikaya River)
