Križutu Lake is located in the northern part of the Latgales upland, in Cirma parish of Ludza municipality, on the border with Rēzekne municipality. It is 144.4 m above sea level.

The shores are sloping; in the western part they are low. The lake has an oval shape with a narrow southern part. The bottom is sandy with cobbles in some parts. It is a running water lake. There is a regulated outgoing flow to the Rēzekne River. A eutrophic lake. There are roaches, carps, perches, pikes, breams, tenches. It is one of the most productive lakes in Latvia. In the deepest north-eastern part there is a swimming place.

Area: 67.1 ha

Length: 1.4 km, max. width: 0.6 km.

Average depth: 2.8 m, max. depth: 4.3 m.

Basin: 27.3 km2 (the lake belongs to the basin of the Daugava River)
