plusonsLake Plusons (Lake Plisūnas, Lake Dunduru) is located in the eastern corner of the Latgale upland, in Istra parish of Ludza municipality. It is at 149.8 m above sea level. It has a roundish form. The shores are low and sloping. The bottom of the lake is even and sandy, in the central part it is sludgy.

In the north, there is a peninsula and a 0.2 ha big island. The Plusona River flows through the lake: it flows into the lake in the west, from Zeilovas Lake and flows out of the lake in the east to the Zilupe River; in the south there is an inflowing stream and a ditch from Gordovas, Molvejas and Ķīša lakes.

It is a eutrophic lake. It hosts roach, bream, perch, carp and tench.

By the southern shore, in water there is a protected geologic object – Plusona boulder.

Area: 4.8 km2

Length: 2.9 km; max. width: 2.5 km

Average depth: 1.8 m; max. depth: 3.8 m

It belongs to the basin of the Velikaya River.
