Porkaļu Lake
Porkaļu Lake is located on the Latgales upland, in Pilda parish; it is at 157.7 m above sea level.
It is the central lake among Sniedziņu lakes. The long lake is separated from the neighbouring lake by the narrow Ilžas and Kivdolicas watershed. The shores are indented, steep and sloping, at the ends of the lake they are low.
On the lake, there are 2 islands. In the northern part and at the south-western end the depth reaches 6.5 metres, in the centre there is a sloping elevation.
The bottom is sandy, in some places there is gravel and stones. The Porkaļu River flows out of the lake in the narrow cove in the north; it flows to the Ilža River. It is a eutrophic, medium-overgrown lake.
It hosts bream, pike, perch and roach.

Length: 1.8 km, max. width: 0.4 km.
Average depth: 3.5 m, max. depth: 6.5 m.
Basin: 22 km2 (it belongs to the basin of the Velikaya River)
