solosuLake Sološu (Salošu) is located on the edge of the Latgales upland, in Lauderi parish of Zilupe municipality, south-westwards from Zilupe town. It is at 132.3 m above sea level. The lake as a rectangular shape. In the southern part there is more than 10 ha large island, opposite the centre of the lake there is one more, smaller island. The shores are sloping and steep, in the southern part they are low. The bottom is uneven with sandbanks, sandy; in the south-western part it is sludgy. A river flows into the lake in a narrow cove in the northern part; in the south-west there is an outflow ditch to the Istra River. It is a eutrophic, overgrown lake.

Area: 88.5 ha, total area with the islands: 100.5 ha

Length: 1.6 km, max. width: 0.9 km.

Average depth: 2.7 m, max. depth: 4.8 m.

Basin: 3.8 km2 (it belongs to the basin of the Velikaya River).
